Geely Vietnam officially launches two new energy vehicle models in the Vietnamese market: the Geely EX5 EM-i – a plug-in hybrid SUV equipped with the all-new E-Motive Intelligent hybrid technology, and the Geely EX2 – a compact battery electric vehicle offering stylish design and convenience for urban mobility.
Held on the occasion of the brand’s first anniversary in Vietnam, the event marks the next step in Geely’s product portfolio diversification strategy in this important market, through expanding sustainable mobility options that are aligned with local infrastructure conditions and the diverse needs of domestic consumers.

Geely EX5 EM-i – PHEV SUV officially sets three Vietnam records, establishing a new benchmark for performance efficiency
One of the highlights of the launch event of Geely Vietnam’s new energy vehicle duo was the Geely EX5 EM-i being awarded certification for setting 3 Vietnam records, including:
- PHEV SUV with the longest pure electric driving range: 228.3 km
- PHEV SUV with the longest total driving range on a full tank and full charge: 1,823.7 km
- PHEV SUV with the lowest combined fuel consumption: 3.02 L/100 km
*Records certified by the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings), a member of the World Records Union (WorldKings).
These records serve as clear evidence of the outstanding efficiency of the E-Motive Intelligent technology, while reaffirming the position of the Geely EX5 EM-i as one of the most advanced PHEV SUVs currently available on the market.
The Geely EX5 EM-i is a next-generation global plug-in hybrid SUV, developed to set higher benchmarks for PHEV vehicles—where performance, safety, and user experience are fully optimized. Not only is it a strategic model within Geely’s new energy vehicle portfolio, but the Geely EX5 EM-i also demonstrates the brand’s technological capabilities and global standards.
The model is built on the Global Electric Architecture (GEA) platform, featuring a modern and minimalist design with strong brand identity, and has received multiple international awards, including the Red Dot Design Award, MUSE Design Awards, IDA Design Awards, and Good Design Award. The interior offers a spacious cabin with a 2,755 mm wheelbase, combined with premium features such as a 15.4-inch central display, a 13.8-inch head-up display (HUD), the Dragon Eagle-1 chip, and a 16-speaker Flyme Sound audio system, delivering a superior level of in-car comfort.
In terms of safety, the EX5 EM-i has achieved a 5-star rating from both Euro NCAP and ANCAP – two of the world’s most reputable safety assessment organizations – affirming its comprehensive protection capabilities in both passive and active safety. The vehicle is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), along with advanced structural safety solutions such as a separated fuel–electric system design, a multi-layer protective frame, and an optimized energy-absorbing structure, enhancing occupant protection in various collision scenarios.
In terms of performance, the EX5 EM-i is equipped with the Thor AI Electric Hybrid 2.0 powertrain, combining a 1.5L gasoline engine with a record-high thermal efficiency of 46.5% and a powerful electric motor, delivering flexible driving performance and optimized fuel consumption. This is also the first Geely model to feature E-Motive Intelligence (EM-i) technology, enabling enhanced energy efficiency, reduced emissions, while maintaining a dynamic driving experience, with a total driving range exceeding 1,000 km.
On a global scale, the EX5 EM-i is available in more than 10 markets, including Australia, Italy, Poland, South Africa, and Indonesia, recording positive sales performance. The model has ranked among the best-selling PHEVs in Australia and placed in the Top 2 of its segment in Mexico.

Geely EX2 – a new benchmark for compact urban electric vehicles
Although only launched in Q1 2025, the Geely EX2 has quickly demonstrated its strong market appeal and recorded impressive sales performance in China, with 465,775 units sold in 2025 and surpassing 500,000 units in just 14 months.
The model features a youthful and modern design with a minimalist styling language, while offering a high level of personalization through a collection of 100 exterior decal options provided by Geely Vietnam as additional choices for customers. The interior space is optimized beyond its segment size, featuring a spacious five-seat configuration, rear legroom of up to 890 mm, along with 34 flexible storage compartments and a distinctive front trunk (frunk) with a capacity of up to 70 liters, meeting diverse mobility needs.
Built on the GEA platform, the Geely EX2 is one of the few models in its segment to feature rear-wheel drive combined with a multi-link rear suspension, delivering stable handling and an engaging driving experience. The vehicle is equipped with a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), enhancing overall driving safety. In addition, a tight turning radius of just 4.95 meters provides a key advantage when navigating congested urban environments.
In terms of equipment, the Geely EX2 is equipped with the Flyme Auto operating system, a large 14.6-inch central display, along with wireless charging and rear air vents, delivering a convenient and comfortable user experience.
In addition to its strong sales performance, the Geely EX2 has also been recognized with multiple international awards, including the IDA International Design Awards 2024 (Bronze), the European Product Design Award 2024 in the “Best Design” category, and the Brazil Trend Car Award 2025 for Best Small Electric Vehicle, reaffirming its product quality on a global scale.
